Reviving a Dinosaur - The Silicon Graphics community is attempting to bring Irix back to life. We had several Irix based machines at the vfx places I worked, usually because of how well they worked with very large XFS file systems. I even got sent on an Irix training course at one point, and later visited the SGI UK offices to do some software demos. It felt like a place with a lot of computing history. I think they also had a VR cave there. I hope they reach their funding goal! tedium.co #
