nektos/act - Gives you the ability to run your workflows locally. Runs off of the workflows defined in .github/workflows and uses docker images. Sounds cool though I've read some reports on HN that it doesn't always work very well. It does seem a bit complex. Sometimes it ain't worth all the extra effort.
