I was able to finally replace my old ear plugs with a new set. it took me a while to save up for them, I kept running into situations where I had to use the earplug money fir ither more inportant things so it had gitten quite bad. The old ones were in a very sorry state indeed. The difference is night and day. The instant I put them in, the crazy world just disapeared into a dimmed silence. It was like some sort of dissociation paradise. I uttered a quiet 'wow' without even realising it.
The funny thing is that the gang stalker bullies must have realised pretty quick because they sent a whole load of stooges to test out the new setup with both walkbys and drivebys to test things. But I couldn’t hear them! Well I could still hear them, but not much, they are really just blips in the background now. I could see they were having to raise their voice, to strain in order for me to even register their subtle harassment. I can’t tell you how good that felt.
I guess it likely won’t take long until I get used to the new normal, but for now at least everything feels somewhat more peaceful :) 🕊✌️☮️
Today’s newsletter is already done and scheduled. I’m feeling relatively nornal today as I had 3 meals yesterday, which has been quite a rare thing of late.
Last night, somebody gifted me quite an exotic fruit I had never tried before. It tasted incredible. Very sweet, but the texture of coconut ice scream, or maybe one of Ben and Gerry’s cooky dough ice scream flavour. It looked like some sort of pre-historic fruit, with skin a bit like a pineapple, but softer. There were these really hard coffee bean sized seeds inside that you had to watch out for, but it really tasted amazing.
It’s the second new fruit I’ve tried in as many weeks. Last week somebody gifted me this fruit that was a bit cruncy, sort of like a cross between a plumb and an apple, except yellow and the size of a large tomato. They have some really great fruits out here.
Finished off the evening last night listening to an interview with Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, and another with UK Labour pilitician Alan Johnson. Both really great interviews. Quite a fasinating boots on the ground window into life growing up in Britain in the post war period. I recognised a lot of similarities with my early life. Of course I grew up outside the UK, but their stories felt like the other side to a coin that I’d never really been able to see propertly on both sides.
They were from the Rest is Politics hosts Rory Stewart and Alistair Campbell’s interview podcast which I only just came across. #
