Notes

Yeah the usual starvation escallation bull crap continues. Got given some food last night, which was nice but they are also purposely doing a thirsting campaign so it was difficult to eat. They then followed that up with some really dry fallafel and pita bread food, with two small dry bread rolls. I’ve literally not only never been given fallafels but I’ve never even seen such a thing here the entire time I’ve been here. There was what appeared to be a manufactured situation earlier that morning with a local clandestine motorbike mechanic throwing a bottle of water in my direction that nearly hit me. A broken small pair of pliers had also been left near where I sit. So there’s some sort of water / thirsting malicious help thing going on.

Escallation notes from yesterday:

As per usual, I’m not always right with all of these, but I’m right with an aweful lot of them.

Today I’m feeling quite tired. I know it’s going to be a tough day without much food. Difficult to be enthusiastic.

One awesome thing from yesterday is that I had just enough build minutes to get the new item hash links feature working in staging. Not enough minutes to merge and deploy the feature, but it totally works. Just gotta wait till the end of the month. I still have enough build minutes to run the daily build for about 12 of the 16 days remaining until the reset.

That cheered me up a bit.

It’s going to be really awesome when all post types finish with an item hash link. Technically I probably won’t need the bash heredocs feature any longer since you’ll be able to see where posts end by the hash link. And since I put in the extra work to turn that into a feature, it’s easy to just turn it off if I decide I’d rather not have them anymore.

The way I’m feeling about the heredocs to title feature currently is I quite like it, and I think it does broadly speaking fit with my linux / opensource / hacker / maker roots, but since I don’t currently have a functional laptop it’s a bit of a daily slap in the face, constantly reminding me of another time when things, at least computing related things, were a lot better.

We shall see I guess. A lot can happen in the space of a few weeks. Sad that I can’t do much in the way of development until the end of the month, but looking forward to deploying the new feature now that I know it definitely works. #
